SEN PATTY MURRAY WILLING TO "SHED BLOOD?" Whose, I wonder.
Sen. Patty Murray said she was willing to "put some blood on the table," but said Republicans' insistence that Bush-era tax cuts be made permanent blocked Congress' "supercommittee" from reaching a budget deal.
Murray, a four-term Washington Democrat, was the Democratic co-chair of the 12-member bipartisan panel. She said of the experience: "I am disappointed tonight but I am not done. What I have learned in the past three months is astounding to me."
More likely, Democrat reluctance to tackle the real issue of rampant government spending is what done in the panel.

The other day, local news in Seattle showed the other U.S. senator from Washington, Microsoft millionaire Maria Cantwell, campaigning to get heating oil entitlements for seniors. Hasn't she got the memo on spending and entitlements yet?

Is it just me or is that the whole problem in a progressive nutshell?
